Reasonable Adjustment

In order to make the qualification as inclusive as possible there is an option for learners who cannot participate in the full scale NGB approved competitive element of the sport. For those who are disabled, partially sighted or have another special educational need recognised and recorded by the school the course can be adjusted. In this instance we would ask that this is indicated on the registration form next to the learners name. Learners are to be assessed in 2 sports only, as well as the knowledge and attitude to learning scores.

The sports assessed should be as close to the NGB full scale competitive game as is possible for the setting. However, any appropriate reasoanble adjustment is acceptable as long as the professional carrying out the moderation can give an accurate mark, reflective of the score evidenced in the assessment. Moderation of 3 learners is still required in accompaniment of the final mark book grades. These learners are eligible to be awarded either bronze, silver, gold or platinum with adjustment, this will be signified by the initials RA (reasonable adjustment) at certification. The final UMS scale will be adjusted to more appropriate boundaries for these learners to access a final grade, see the final UMS RA table below.
